Liberal Democrats fight to protect Feed-in Tariffs

Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Energy and Climate Change Lynne Featherstone has tabled a fatal motion in the House of Lords against the Government cuts to Feed-in Tariffs. A Feed-in Tariff is a payment you can get if you generate your own electricity (eg with solar panels or a wind turbine) and you can also sell energy back to the grid.

We can now dispose of food waste in plastic bags into the food pods. The recycling plant has confirmed they can deal with this. We can also still use compostable liners, newspaper and corn starch bags. Loose food is accepted but not black bags. We hope this will encourage people to recycle more food and stop putting it in the refuse bin. Plastic bags are still not accepted in the recycling bins. ………………………………………………….. We have had a temporary reprieve from the Station Road Closure but it will operate again from 8.00pm on Saturday 16th January to 5.00am on Monday 8th February. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times via the western walk way. Part of Victoria Close will be closed from 6th January to 14th April to accommodate the construction of the bridge deck. The subway will remain open for pedestrian access. At long last we have had a response from the person managing the premises, and he has agreed to our request to clear up/clean up the front of the shop which has looked really scruffy for months. We are told this work will be done next week ! Could this have anything to do with the planning application on these premises, 151 High Street and 149 next door, to change the use from Class A1 (shop) to Cl.A3 restaurant and café ? The application is 15/2536/FUL and can be seen on Three Rivers District Council

Green Option - Disposing of your Christmas Tree & Cards

Residents can still recycle their real Christmas tree at any of Herts County Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres. In Dacorum these are located in Eastman Way in Hemel Hempstead and in Northbridge Road in Berkhamsted. Residents are reminded not to leave their trees at any of the borough's other recycling sites, as this will be treated as fly-tipping.
