Liberal Democrats Cheered by a Gain from the Tories in Cornwall

15 Apr 2016

In another slack week before the nationwide Police & Crime Commissioner elections, there were only three by-elections, two in Cornwall and one in Somerset. One was a Liberal Democrat hold and one was a Conservative hold, but the third was a Liberal Democrat gain from the Conservatives.

In each case the Liberal Democrat share of the vote increased as the Fightback continues successfully.

The result for the Lib Dem Gain is shown below.

Cornwall UA, Wadebridge West Division

Labour 222 [16.0%; +5.8%]
Independent 111 [8.0%; +8.0%]
Green 95 [6.8%; +6.8%]
