Charter 700 - See the Tring Charter In Person

As a fitting finale to the year's 700th anniversary celebrations, the Charter itself is coming to Tring for the very first time! The frail and ancient document, which is cared for amongst the country's priceless historic treasures at The National Archives at Kew, is to be brought here on loan for a very short period.

Liberal Democrat Mayor Dave: Bedford-Oxford Rail Link and its Economic Benefits Must Not be Delayed

Lib Dem Mayor of Bedford Dave Hodgson has spoken out about the damage which would be done if the Oxford to Bedford section of East West Rail were delayed, as is being considered by Network Rail. In the summer, the government asked the Chairman of Network Rail, Sir Peter Hendy, to review all rail enhancements to be delivered by 2019, and it is understood that a recommendation to delay completion of the Oxford to Bedford link by three years to 2022, and other elements of the western section of the line to as late as 2026.

Tring Biz 2 - Dunsley Farm Shop

Seen here in our pic is the Dunsley Farm Shop float taking part in the parade through the town as part of the Tring 700 celebrations to mark the 700th anniversary of the granting of a market charter to Tring in 1315. Dunsley Farm and Farmer Phil Marks is a well-known supporter of town activities and also supported the Tring Apple Day festivities on 4th October at Jeacock's Orchard in Cow Lane with a tempting display of a wide varieties of local apples for sale.

David Barnsdale Inscription

The Name of a Fallen Tring Soldier, Corporal David Barnsdale, At Last Carved into Town's Memorial.

Citizens of Tring well remember the crowds gathered five years ago at the town's war memorial in Church Square to pay their respects to Corporal David Barnsdale, 24, from 33 Engineer Regiment who was killed in Afghanistan when caught in the blast of a roadside bomb. Corporal Barnsdale was in command of a Royal Engineers Search Team. He and his team were responsible for the detection of improvised explosive devices in areas deemed to be high risk.
