Kingsley Green - A New Mental Health Hospital Takes Shape

Kingsley Green is a new 86-bedded facility for mentally ill patients, now nearing completion on the old Harperbury Hospital site. There will be in-patient services for patients with functional disorders (ie not linked to an identifiable physical cause) including special facilities for those who are frail in addition to suffering with these conditions. These groups of patients can be some of the most distressed. A secure reception area is provided for those who have had to be admitted under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.

This development would have caused horrific damage to the local Green Belt, created appalling traffic problems, exacerbated the flooding risks and caused disturbance, danger and disruption locally.
