The “Bedroom Tax” - Liberal Democrat Reform, Labour Hypocrisy

The Liberal Democrats will ensure that benefit claimants in social housing will no longer be penalised if their landlord cannot provide accommodation suitable to their needs. In other words, the £14 reduction in housing benefit ("bedroom tax") for an unneeded room will not apply unless the landlord can offer reasonable accommodation and the tenant refuses the offer unreasonably.

Herts Liberal Democrats Demand Action on Highways Safety

Herts County Council is to review its highways faults inspection regime following pressure from the Liberal Democrat Group Leader and Deputy Leader. Lib Dem Group Leader, County Councillor (Watford: Central & Oxhey), Stephen Giles-Medhurst said "There are grave concerns regarding our Highways safety and the regime in place to ensure it. The findings in the case of Curtis v HCC, where Mr Curtis was seriously injured because the highways inspection regime failed to spot a serious pothole and fix it. This shows that the County's inspection regime is not fit for pressure and needs a review.

Dacorum Car Parking has been Verging on the Ridiculous!

Hardpressed householders in Dacorum are being driven to distraction in their efforts to find suitable safe parking. 10 years ago or more, Liberal Democrat-run Three Rivers Council embarked on a programme of converting suitable verges in South Oxhey to provide additional residents parking. It worked very well.
