A Qualified Teacher for Every Child

Liberal Democrats have announced that the Liberal Democrat manifesto will include a commitment to a "parental guarantee" - so that every parent can be confident that their child will be taught a core curriculum by a properly qualified teacher.

An independent liberal manifesto from an independent liberal party

Nick Clegg has outlined the process by which Liberal Democrats will unveil their 2015 General Election manifesto and the key values that will inform the policies in it. In his speech Nick called it "an independent, liberal manifesto from an independent, liberal party" and said it "will not be written with an eye to what Labour or the Conservatives think or might sign up to." Put simply, the Liberal Democrat manifesto will be: "written as an answer to one, simple question: how can we build opportunity for all?"

Liberal Democrat Election Success as they Easily Hold Watford Borough Council

In the Borough Council elections held on May 22nd, 2014, the Liberal Democrats comfortably held control of their flagship borough giving the lie to media hype surrounding UKIP and Labour resurgence. Despite some success in taking two seats from the Greens, it was not a good day for Labour as just one Liberal Democrat seat fell to them.
