The first phase of the newly extended skate park in Hemel Hempstead's Gadebridge Park reopened on Saturday 2 August.

The skate park was closed for the first phase of extension work to improve the park for skateboards, BMXs and scooters, introducing new street style features, such as steps and rails, that would normally be found in a town centre.

Gadebridge Skatepark is being extended to make it a fantastic facility for the young people of Hemel Hempstead. Dacorum BC have been working with the Hemel Skate Park Group who have been instrumental in the design.

The work is being done in two phases to minimise the period of closure. Phase one is the first part of a street plaza design which will be added to the side of the existing facilities.

Disruption is being kept to a minimum, as much as possible, for the summer holidays so the park will be open while the second phase is completed (4 August for around three weeks).
