Thank you to all those who responded to our question about local post boxes. This confirms that most local post boxes are only being collected once a day, usually by 9.30am. The last collection time for local post offices is about 5.00pm, and the only later collections are from sorting offices. The Post Office claims to have put notification on the boxes but no one mentioned seeing it ! ………………………………………………………… The week before last, Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) held a Local Business Forum for local businesses and organisations. It was a successful event, the attendance was excellent and most people expressed support for regular meetings. Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) is delighted to report that the prestigious national Green Flag Award has yet again been awarded to the Aquadrome, Chorleywood House Estate and Leavesden Country Park. The scores for the Aquadrome have increased this year to the maximum possible in all the aspects being judged. The award recognises the best parks and green spaces across the country. Following recent press coverage Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) is receiving a large volume of calls about suspected giant hogweed. Most calls refer to non-toxic cow parsley. Information is going to be put on the TRDC website which will explain the difference between the toxic giant hogweed ( purple stem with spikes, spotted leaves etc.) and cow parsley. TRDC will of course work to remove any of the toxic variety found anywhere in our parks and open spaces.
