The New Barnfield Incinerator Inquiry, due to start on 10th September, has an evening 'community' session scheduled for Tuesday 22nd October.

The session is intended for the community to voice concerns over the planned waste burner.

The Lib Dems are calling on Robert Gordon, Leader of the Council, Terry Douris, Cabinet member responsible for Waste Management or Derrick Ashley, the Cabinet member who oversaw the development plans, to finally face the public of Hatfield and surrounding areas by appearing at the event to put their case for the waste burner planned at New Barnfield.

Paul Zukowskyj, Lib Dem Spokesman for Corporate Issues commented: "Despite something like fifteen invitations to appear and put the case for the incinerator at public meetings across our area over a number of years, no senior officer or senior politician has ever felt confident enough in their case to actually turn up. They always give some feeble excuse.
