Following their disappointment at the shock result in the General Election, Liberal Democrats in Watford and beyond came together on 6 June at Nascot's Recital Hall to thank their supporters and Parliamentary candidate, Mayor Dorothy Thornhill.

Following the Borough Council elections, which took place on the same day as the General Election, the Liberal Democrats retained control of Watford Borough Council.

Hard working Dorothy Thornhill remains Mayor of Watford Borough and the MP for the Watford constituency remains the same wealthy Tory property developer from Hampstead.

Seen in the picture with Mayor Dorothy are Hertfordshire County Councillors Nick Hollinghurst and Stephen Giles-Medhurst, Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on the County Council
