Victoria Collins calls on local MP to improve support for local businesses
Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate Victoria Collins calls on local MP Gagan Mohindra to support local businesses. This comes as the Conservative government's latest news announces a reduction in their support for businesses' energy bills from April onwards.
Thousands of businesses across the UK have just faced sky-high energy bills during one of the worst winters in living memory. This could not be a worse time to pull the plug on support for businesses. For many businesses, this will mean another cliff-edge. They need real, meaningful and lasting support now.
Victoria has been talking to local businesses across South West Hertfordshire who are having an extremely tough time. Many are struggling to keep their doors open. Indeed, the Copper House is closing its doors and The Lamb has closely followed in Berkhamsted. We've already seen places such as the Tring Winery close due to the pressure of rising costs. In Rickmansworth, we'll see the closing of M&Co as our high streets across South West Hertfordshire empty.
Victoria has asked Gagan Mohindra for lasting support businesses and help the backbone of our local economy.
