Victoria calls for change on July 4th
As the General Election campaign enters into the final phase, Liberal Democrat candidate Victoria Collins has said voters across Harpenden & Berkhamsted are “ready for change” and that she is fighting for every vote.
The Liberal Democrats in Harpenden & Berkhamsted have been campaigning for action to tackle the cost of living crisis, the NHS crisis and the sewage scandal.
At the last General Election, the Liberal Democrats came a strong second in the old seat of Hitchin and Harpenden. Since then, support has been surging for the Liberal Democrats in local elections, with now around 80% of the councillors. Labour have declared this seat a non-target seat.
The most recent YouGov poll shows the Lib Dems on 39.2%, the Conservatives on 32.9% and Labour on 12.9%.
The Liberal Democrats manifesto offers a bold and fully costed £9bn plan to tackle the health and care crisis, clean up sewage in our waterways, and put the economy back on track.
Victoria Collins, Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Harpenden & Berkhamsted, said:
“Throughout this election I have spoken to thousands of people across Harpenden, Berkhamsted, Tring and the surrounding villages and one thing is clear - people here are ready for change.
“Local health services have been brought to their knees, people’s mortgages and rents have skyrocketed and water companies have been allowed to pump their filthy sewage into our rivers and beaches. All this by a Conservative government more interested in fighting between themselves than standing up for the country.
“In Harpenden & Berkhamsted, this election will be a two horse race between four more years of a tired and out of touch Conservative party, or a fresh start with a Liberal Democrat MP.
“Every vote for the Liberal Democrats at this election is a vote to elect a strong local champion who will fight every day for our NHS and care.”
