Time to Sign-Up for Nursery

It's time for parents with children born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012 to apply for a nursery place.

The online nursery application system for 2015-16 opens on Monday 9 February.

Hertfordshire County Council hosts an online application system at www.hertsdirect.org/nurseryadmissions for parents to apply for a place at a nursery school or class. You can state which nursery you would most prefer and the days you would like your child to attend. Parents should apply for a place at a nursery school or class online by Friday 20 March.

A leaflet, Applying for a school nursery place, which explains all you need to know about making a nursery application online, is being distributed to families across the county. The leaflet also explains about free nursery places available at private, voluntary and independent (PVI) nursery settings across the county.

To find your nearest nursery follow the easy to use online mapping facility available at www.hertsdirect.org/nurseryadmissions - simply enter your postcode to find nurseries in your area.

Whilst the online system only allows applications to nursery schools and classes, the online nursery mapping system includes all nurseries, schools and PVI providers in Hertfordshire which offer the 15 hours per week free early years entitlement.

To access nursery offers, parents must log back into their online application on Tuesday 28 April 2015. Places can be accepted immediately online.
