This PSPO proposal is the thin end of a wedge!

This Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) proposal is the thin end of a wedge!

There is no criminal offence for spitting to clear your throat, or not finding the public toilets open (they close at 5pm).

That's because although it's not nice, it's NOT CRIMINAL.

Now the six Tory Cabinet Members at Dacorum Borough Council want to bring in a PSPO which will make (among other things) spitting, being homeless and/or penniless enough to sleep rough or beg, and FEEDING THE DUCKS, all punishable by a £100 fine.

Really? They think pushing annoying public order breaches a few yards outside the Town Centre boundary is "more cost effective" than proper policing patrols as necessary, plus social & community support?

Look out - If this PSPO becomes established, all sorts of behaviour - and new PSPO zones - could be added next. Please add your voice to oppose it before the deadline this Friday!

Let's take PROPER pride in our town by building a better sense of place and calling for public order to be handled by the Police - NOT having people "framed by The Forum."
