The unpopular and ill-conceived Helioslough Railfreight plan has received a further setback when the County Council unanimously voted against the Eric Pickles approved plans.

County Councillors from across Hertfordshire lent their support to Liberal Democrat County Councillor Aislinn Lee's impassioned speech in favour of the motion and her plea that the Council listen to the people of Hertfordshire and protect their interests. The County Council unanimously passed the motion, which after amendment was agreed as a joint motion and seconded by the Liberal Democrats.
