Local resident and campaigner, Sally Symington, is standing for Hemel Hempstead as the Liberal Democrat Candidate on 8 June.

Sally believes passionately that the people of Hemel Hempstead deserve an alternative voice to the current Tory dominance. As your MP she will speak out against the disastrous Hard Brexit we are heading for under Theresa May's leadership; the relentless budget cutting in our local schools and the steady erosion of our National Health Service.

Sally stands for helping local businesses to thrive. Hemel Hempstead has the location, demographics and transport links to make it one of the best places to live and work in the South East. As a Liberal Democrat she wants to build the strong, open and tolerant community with well-funded local services that we all want to see in Hemel Hempstead. A community that looks outward and with confidence towards our European and international partners. She rejects the inward-looking, job-detroying negativity of the Tory Hard Brexiteers. If you too feel this way about what is happening to our country and our community, then a vote for Sally is a way to get your voice heard.

Sally has lived in the Hemel Hempstead constituency for twenty years and is deeply and actively involved in local community issues. As Chair of Great Gaddesden Parish Council she campaigned over several years for improvements to the local broadband service, affordable rural housing, sensible and appropriate speed restrictions on rural roads and in particular restrictions on the weight and volume of traffic passing through the small but beautiful hamlet of Water End, something that is now being implemented She has been a trustee of the Pepper Foundation, a local charity which funds a team of nurses who provide hospice-at-home care for children with life-limiting conditions.
