Police and Crime Commissioner Elections

The first Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) election will take place on Thursday 15 November 2012. The result of the election will be declared on Friday 16 November 2012. The candidate elected will take responsibility for policing in Hertfordshire on 22 November 2012 and serve until May 2016.

The period for official nomination closed at noon on 19 October 2012.

The four candidates who will contest the election are:

  • Ms Sherma Batson (Labour Party Candidate),
  • Mr David Edward Lloyd (The Conservative Party Candidate),
  • Ms Marion Ann Mason (UKIP), and
  • Dr Christopher Townsend (Liberal Democrat).

The candidates' addresses will be published on a nationwide website on 26 October.

The closing date for postal vote applications is Wednesday 31 October 2012 and the closing date for proxy applications is Wednesday 7 November 2012. The polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 15 November 2012.
