Get In the Swing - the regular Tea Dances are celebrating in style, holding a themed 1920′s Tea Dance as part of the 90th Anniversary celebration for Chorleywood Memorial Hall. 1.30 - 4.00pm, on 11th December. £3 for dancers, £1.50 for non dancers, and carers are free. Refreshments will be available. There is a free first come, first served bus service from Croxley Green Community Car Park at 12.45pm and from Watersmeet at 1.00pm. Three Rivers Council has a spare bus shelter. Has anyone any good ideas about where it might be used to offer protection from the weather to local bus travellers ? Please let us know.

Neighbourhood Watch members need to be aware that the old non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222 will no longer be in service by next April. From November 12th callers have been getting a message advising them in future to call the non-emergency number 101. Their calls will be forwarded to the Force Communication Room as usual.

We have just received the Annual Report from the Sheltered Housing Project, which was started in 2008, to improve the health of older residents including flexibility, balance and over all cardiovascular health. It involves enjoyable exercise in a friendly group taught by a qualified practitioner. It takes place weekly in 7 locations round the district. During 2011/12 over 40 older people had 1642 attendances. 96% were very satisfied and noted health benefits including improved flexibility, more mobility, and increased confidence.

The final estimate of total UK exports to the EU for 2011 was £158.3bn. That's a lot of export trade and a lot of jobs that we should not walk away from.
