Church Chimes: There has been considerable local concern about the Noise Abatement Notice served on the clock chimes (not the church bells) at All Saints, Croxley.

Three Rivers Districy Council has the statutory duty to investigate noise nuisance complaints in the district wherever they come from - scaffolding companies, building firms, dogs, even churches ! A complaint was received from a resident, who used to sleep in his front bedroom but now wishes to sleep in his back bedroom, that if the window is open for ventilation the chimes disturb him. A professional environmental officer visited late one evening, confirmed the noise nuisance and an abatement notice was eventually issued.

All Saints has the right of appeal to the Magistrates Court and we understand that this will be done and the Church will be supported by the Diocesan legal department. The council officer has been in touch with the Vicar of All Saints right from the start and has ensured that she and the Diocese are fully informed about the process and appeal system and has made herself available to the Church for any further information needed.

Local residents who object to the notice are advised to write letters of support to the Church to be used at the appeal : All Saints, Rev Miriam Mugan, The Vicarage, All Saints Church, The Green, Croxley Green WD3 3HJ

The foliage of the conifers on the south side of the Uxbridge Rd, opposite Chalfont Court, has been cut back at our request as we had complaints that it was impossible to walk along there because of the growth over the footway, and in bad weather pedestrians got really wet brushing against the foliage.
