Heathrow Extension?

Recently TRDC members were invited to presentations on 2 different proposals to create additional runway capacity at Heathrow. These options, plus a third for Gatwick, have been shortlisted by the Airports Commission. The Commission will make a final recommendation to the Government in the summer about where additional runway capacity should be located. Local councillors attended because if Heathrow is selected it will surely have an impact on this area because of increased traffic, overhead flights and noise. A meeting of the TRDC Youth Council was held this week. One of the agenda items was the decision on how the annual £1000 grant would be distributed. Organisations that provide services locally for young people make applications for a grant and the Youth Council members (11-18yrs) decide how the funding is allocated. This process not only supports local services but is also a useful experience for the Youth Council. This year *£400 was allocated to Abbots Langley Youth Football Club ( supports over 200 young people to play football, boys and girls, aged 6-18) - *£300 was allocated to Chorleywood Youth Club - *£300 to Mencap
