9 Lives Furniture is a local charity that collects and sells quality 2nd hand furniture and household goods from their Rickmansworth showroom in Wharf Lane. There are spaces available on their free 10 week restoration course starting in April. These courses are mainly but not exclusively for those with learning disabilities or recovering from mental health problems - restoring furniture can be very therapeutic, helps self esteem, confidence and social skills. Can You inspire and change the lives of local young people? Foster carers can provide a stable family support network for local children and young people when they cannot live with their own family. This is not something anyone can do - you need a spare room, loads of patience, tolerance and, most of all, a sense of humour. Every child is different so we need foster carers who are ready to embrace the challenge and success. If you can offer stability, and want to make a difference, please get in touch. There are generous allowances, round the clock access to advice and training. For more information call 0800 917 0925 or visit www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/fostering
