Welcome to this edition of 'Rickmansworth This Week e-news'

Very many thanks to those who made a donation to Beat The Killer Cold.

TRDC (Three Rivers District Council) doubles the gifts. The money goes to helping the oldest, most vulnerable local residents with their winter fuel bills. None is spent on administration . Your generosity is much appreciated. ………………………………………………………

Black mulberries were grown in England in Roman times. Many were found in medieval monastery gardens and were prized fruit for Tudor banquets. Some survive today, the oldest is thought to be the mulberry in Syon Park, planted in 1548.TRDC has planted some mulberry saplings in various parts of th district, including the Bury Grounds. They will achieve full height in 20-50 years and , we hope, give pleasure and interest for many years to come.……………………………………………………….

Rivertech, Rickmansworth Council's Community Co-work space, has been growing steadily, providing affordable desk and office space for start ups, small businesses and entrepreneurs. It now has 25 companies from various backgrounds and continues to grow. It is developing innovative ideas, such as teaming up with local schools to offer young people a chance to learn how to set up their own business. To arrange a tour contact info@rivertech.space ………………………………………………….

TRDC is joining forces with 6 other Hertfordshire authorities to create a new, fully integrated Building Control Service. This will combine resources and expertise to provide a more flexible and efficient response to building control issues. The new company will be wholly owned by the 7 local authorities and will provide access to nationwide expertise and up to date information on changes to regulations. Property owners can be reassured that their building project receives impartial and independent monitoring across TRD.……………………………………………………..
