TfL did not finish the work on the Station Road Bridge on the scheduled dates and are planning a further period of night closures of Station Road from 22-29th May.

Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) has teamed up with Wimbletech CIC to create a work hub in Rickmansworth. Operating from vacant space in Basing House, the Hub will create a vibrant home for entrepreneurs, home workers and small businesses in the area. It will offer flexible working space, with fixed and 'hot' desks and meeting rooms available. Training events for the local community will form a key feature of this hub which will promote technology and innovation. The hub is due to open on 1st June. For further details call 020 3290 0225, Email info@rivertech.space or visit www.rivertech.space

TRDC has carried out another successful fly-tipping prosecution. It was an illegal deposit of a large heap of household waste including boxes, packaging and furniture in Chalfont Lane. The offender was fined £1,950. Fly tipping costs a significant amount of public money to clear. Please ring the police on 101 or TRDC on 776611 with details of the site and if possible, of any vehicle seen fly-tipping.

New Home Needed. Following a recent family bereavement a local resident who is taking over care of her late father's dogs is forced to find a new home for her own two cats. Misha and Eddie are siblings who have lived together for their whole lives - 12 years. They are healthy and affectionate creatures and really need to live together in a house with a garden. If any one is willing to consider this, please let us know.

Cllr Ann Shaw Finally, we should mention that Cllr Ann Shaw has stepped down from the position of Council Leader which she has held since 1986 when the Liberals won control of TRDC. She writes, "We were determined to provide services and facilities that met the needs of our local community and gave value for money. It has been a challenging and rewarding task, and I am proud of what we have achieved. I want to make it clear that this does not mean any reduction in my commitment to this community. I am not planning to stand back from my role as a councillor. On Tuesday I was appointed Deputy Leader of TRDC. There are many new threats and challenges facing local government and we need, all of us, to work together to withstand them. I plan to spend more time on casework, on local problems and the concerns of this community. Cllr Sara Bedford was appointed Council Leader. She is well equipped to do the job and has much experience and commitment. I wish her well. Cllr Ann Shaw"
