News from Rickmansworth Liberal Democrats - Three Rivers, a Lib Dem Run Council
At last the plans for the Reach Free School are being made available to the community. There was a public exhibition of proposals on Thursday 19th May, 3.00 - 7.00pm, and Saturday 21st May, 11.00am - 3.00pm, both were at Mill End Community Centre, Church Lane. No planning application has yet been submitted.

Due to the ongoing vandalism of the textiles bank in William Penn/George V car park, being repeatedly pushed over, it is going to be removed and a new site sought.

The revised planning application to turn the Pynesfield green belt land into a gravel pit is to be determined by Herts.County Council on 26th May at 10.00am at County Hall. It is important that as many people as possible attend to demonstrate opposition to this environmental disaster. In the local elections last week TRDC Lib Dems held all their seats with increased majorities. Three Rivers councillor numbers remain the same - 19 Lib/Dems, 17 Cons, 3 Lab - the Lib/Dems remain in control.
Nationally, The Times summed it up, 'Lib/ Dems turned corner in council vote.' In UK the Lib Dems gained more council seats than any other party - net gain of 45 seats. Conservatives had a net loss of 48, Labour a net loss of 3.

- Rickmansworth & District Art Society in the reception area of Three Rivers House (the council Offices) Reg Crouch who has been taking art classes locally for many years will be displaying an eclectic mix of his colourful oils and acrylics during May. Demonstrations by experienced artists are on the first Thursday of every month at the Cloisters Hall, The Cloisters, Rickmansworth, Herts WD3 1HL from 7.45 to 10 PM
- Artistsmeet at Watersmeet 'Young Masters' Rickmansworth School have an interesting selection of their artwork.
- Ricky Green Social are a group from Rickmansworth who meet on the first Saturday every month to socialise and work on greening the area. Meetings take place at the Cafe in the Park at the Aquadrome - 11.00am to 1.00pm.

- Croxley Camera Club is the photographic society for Three Rivers district and is known as the friendly club. They have a range of photographic interests and skills within the club with photographic advice available from specialists in many genres including nature, landscape, studio and other areas.
