At last week's Three Rivers District Council's (TRDC) Planning Committee meeting the members unanimously supported ward councllor Ann Shaw's proposal to reject the application to allow gravel extraction at Pynesfield, West Hyde. The application will be finally determined by HCC

We have been asked to try and get the lights along footpath 27 ( between Ebury Road and M& S) mended, but the Highways Authority has informed us that the lights on this section of the right of way are regarded as private and therefore will not be repaired by HCC. It was suggested that they are the responsibility of the owners of adjacent buildings. This seems very strange. Does anyone know anything about this situation ?

Station Road Bridge Replacement. The bridge was replaced during a closure of the Metropolitan and Chiltern Lines from Friday 25th March to Monday 28th March, when replacement bus services operated. Station Rd and the Station Approach bus lane had to be closed 10.00pm, 22nd March to 6.00am 29th March. Homestead Road and Station Approach were closed nightly between 10.00pm and 6.00am from 22-28th March. The A412 was closed between 2.00am and 3.30am on 26th March for movement of bridge decks between Victoria Close and Station Approach. Traffic management scheme was in place throughout the closures

Tree Clearance at Cassiobridge play area is finished for now. It will remain open until late summer when the main work is due to start.

Bean Feast - Fee Fo Fum, Your school is invited to join the fun, Plant a bean seed and watch it grow, Win a prize and come to the show.
This year's panto is Jack and the Beanstalk. TRDC & Watersmeet are offering every infant/junior school pupil the opportunity to grow their own beanstalk . If a school would like to join in, contact Judy Simpson now at judy.simpson@threerivers.gov.uk or ring 727145. Every school that takes part will receive a pack of 30 bean seeds for each class. They should be sown in April and harvested before the summer holidays. Take pictures of the plants and post them on Watersmeet's Facebook page. Prizes will be awarded for the tallest beans - to be measured individually.

The Back to Netball to encourage 16+ women to try the sport and be active and healthy, is doing well locally. The sessions run every Wednesday 8.00pm - 9.00pm at St Clement Danes School . It doesn't matter if you haven't played for 20yrs, everyone is welcome - just come along, get fit, make new friends, have fun. - Open Exhibition by Rickmansworth Art Society in the reception area of Three Rivers House (the council Offices) Ricky Painters and Sketchers meet regularly throughout the summer to paint outside in interesting local settings - all welcome. - Future Friends of Watersmeet Film Society films - 21 April 'Joy'
- Ricky Folk meet at 8.15pm in the back bar of the Conservative Club, Bury Lane on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.You can sing, play or both or simply come and listen. No entrance fee and drinks are at club prices. In exchange for the facilities they entertain members of the Club at summer events each year and participate in other local events.
- Three Rivers Museum in Basing House next to the library, have new displays featuring the Great War & Ernest Shackleton - Museum open Mon to Fri 2-4pm, Sat 10am to 4pm. Free. Support you local museum.
- Art Exhibition by local artists in TRDC Council Offices, in the reception area next to the stairs (in the foyer)
- Rickmansworth and District Art Society meet in the Cloisters Hall on the first Thursday of the month.
- The Mill Photography Club resumed its fortnightly meetings in January at the Mill Cafe, Methodist Church, Berry Lane. WD3 7HJ. The club welcomes new members, we meets from 10am to 12am at the cafe to discuss & practice improving our basic photographic abilities. If you have a camera, come along & give us a try, no fees or costs.
- Croxley Camera Club is the photographic society for Three Rivers district and is known as the friendly club. They have a range of photographic interests and skills within the club with photographic advice available from specialists in many genres including nature, landscape, studio and other areas. They meet every Thursday between September and May (starts 3rd Sept) in the Croxley Green Community Centre at 7:30 for a 7:45 start.
