Planning Win for West Hyde and Maple Cross. On Tuesday this week a busload of local residents went from West Hyde and Maple Cross to attend the Herts County Council Planning meeting where the Pynesfield Gravel Extraction planning application was being decided. Three Rivers had already debated it twice and unanimously called on HCC to refuse it. Four residents, including ward councillor Ann Shaw, addressed the County Councillors and we are delighted to report that HCC did in fact refuse the application. This development would have caused horrific damage to the local Green Belt, created appalling traffic problems, exacerbated the flooding risks and caused disturbance, danger and disruption locally.
