The hawthorn hedge will be cut to give clearance, meet disability requirements and prevent branches dropping on the new shelter. The owner of the adjoining property has no objection.
UPDATE ON CEDAR TREE outside Three Rivers House.
The 3 Rivers DC workforce has removed 14 tons of hardcore from around the base of the tree by hand over 2½ days. The original soil was very compacted and will be loosened with an air spade and treated with conditioner. The hole will then be back filled with topsoil. The future surface treatment has to be decided and a circular barrier round the base of the tree filled with gravel is being considered.
