Tring should slowly be getting a safer place as steps are taken to improve visibility round junctions - and there are quite a few of those onto Miswell Lane.

Strictly speaking - because its prohibited in the Highway Code - double yellow lines are not necessay round corners at road junctions. Both police officers and PCSOs have the authority to issue fixed penalties for "obstructive parking" - which includes parking at junctions or on corners.

However, note only do double yellow lines act as a psychological warning, but, more practically, they are backed up by Traffic Regulation Orders and so bring enforcement within the scope of traffic wardens.

A few more parking restrictions to improve road safety have now been signed off for:

(1) Highfield Road/Miswell Lane junction

(2) Goldfield Road/Miswell Lane junction

(3) Goldfield Road near the Goldfield School entrance

The latter is certainly a bit of regulation that is badly needed to improve journey to school safety.
