Lib Dems Tring Market Move Proves to be a Success
After careful consideration and at least two surveys Tring Town Council had during last year discussed on many occasions the move of the Friday Market and the Farmers Market from the Tring Market Place onto land owned by Tring Town Council at Church Square and Manision Vista on either side of the High Street.
Finally at its meeting at the beginning of February 2015 the Building & Assets Committee decided that the Market Move should be a prime objective of the Council and that the agreement of Lord Rothschild to this move should be sought.
This approval was granted and at a meeting of the Town Council later that same month the plan to move the markets was agreed.
Preparations were then put in hand to ensure the electrical and water services would be ready, to give due notice to the stallholders and to start publicising the move.
The new arrangements were ready and the first market in the new location was on 15th May, 2015.
Now that we've had just over 3 months experience it's clear that the Liberal Democrat Group, who were controlling the Town Council back in February, took the right decision and that all the careful planning and surveying has resu
lted in success.
