Lib Dems and Conservatives neck and neck in Harpenden and Berkhamsted
Final poll of campaign shows Lib Dems and Conservatives neck and neck in Harpenden and Berkhamsted
The Liberal Democrats and Conservative Party are neck and neck in Harpenden and Berkhamsted, one of the final major polls of the campaign has revealed.
The MRP poll from Survation shows that the result in the constituency is on a knife-edge and that every vote could count with just 24 hours to go.
The poll gives the Liberal Democrats a 51% chance of winning the seat, putting it on a knife-edge ahead of polling day as people swing behind the Liberal Democrats as the party with the best chance of beating the Conservatives.
It shows a gap of just 0.89% between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives, with Labour trailing behind in third place.
Liberal Democrat candidate for Harpenden and Berkhamsted, Victoria Collins commented:
“This poll confirms it’s a close two-horse race between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives here and Labour cannot win.
“The momentum is with the Liberal Democrats in the final 24 hours of this campaign. More and more people are backing our plans to boost the number of GP appointments, tackle the sewage scandal and fix social care.
“Tomorrow is a chance to finally end years of Conservative chaos and deliver the change our community deserves, by voting for the Liberal Democrats. It’s clear that it is going to be very close and every vote will count.”
