Lib Dem leader picks Harpenden to launch local election campaign with message ‘Time is running out’ for Sunak.

Ed Davey turned over a giant hourglass revealing the message: “Time’s running out Rishi” at the rally in Harpenden.

He was joined by Victoria Collins, Parliamentary Candidate for Harpenden & Berkhamsted and Daisy Cooper, MP for St Albans yesterday (Wednesday 20th March.)

This latest visit shows the Liberal Democrats are making Harpenden & Berkhamsted a key constituency in their general election campaign.

The Lib Dems are vowing to ‘tear down the Blue Wall’ and better serve the thousands of voters who are crying out for real change after being taken for granted by this Conservative government.

Elections are taking place for more than 100 local authorities, mayors, and police and crime commissioners across England on Thursday 2nd May. Last week, Rishi Sunak ruled out holding a general election on the same day.

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Harpenden & Berkhamsted, Victoria Collins said:

“It’s great that Ed Davey has chosen to launch the Lib Dem’s local election campaign in Harpenden. The Liberal Democrats now have around 80% of the district and borough councillors across Harpenden & Berkhamsted, who are working hard for local people.”

“Last May we stormed the local elections, electing fantastic councillors including in Harpenden, Redbourn, Sandridge, Wheathampstead and Jersey Farm. Overall, we got 50% of the vote and we took outright control of Dacorum Council and Harpenden Town Council for the first time.”

“The Liberal Democrats are campaigning hard for a fair deal. As our area's next MP, I would stand up for Harpenden, Berkhamsted, Tring and the surrounding villages and give local people the voice that they need and deserve.”
