Icknield Way, Tring - Crossing Update

Icknield Way Crossing Campaign

This picture was taken two years ago at the start of the campaign to improve safety at a well-u8sed crossing on Tring's busy Icknield Way.

The crossing will be in New Mill between Longbridge Close and Chapel Meadow.

This is on part of Footpath 41, an important route to the shops and schools.

It is used by people of all ages but especially by school children.

Now we've had news that preliminary work for the crossing installation may start in 3 weeks time.

On Friday afternoon I heard from the engineering team at HCC that preparations may start on 6th of March - i.e. before the period of the scheduled road closure.

You can never be quite sure of predictions regarding highway work - but fingers crossed!
