County Councillor Nick Hollinghurst (Tring and the Villages) has allocated £750 from his locality budget to Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust for new equipment and tools.

The tools will be used for volunteer conservation tasks at Aldbury Nowers and other local nature reserves.

Cllr Nick Hollinghurst said, "Aldbury Nowers is a delightful spot set on a slope of the Chiltern escarpment which catches the sun from mid-morning on. It is an important habitat for butterflies and rare plants favoured by grazed land and is bordered by footpaths and rights of way. It is an area that can be viewed and enjoyed by everybody and I'm happy to be able to support the work of the volunteers that manage and care for such wildlife sites."

A Locality Budget of £10,000 is available to each of the 77 members of Hertfordshire County Council to spend on worthwhile community projects in their area.
