Hertfordshire Liberal Democrats Hold Successful Jazz Evening in Watford

Jazz Evening

Last week Liberal Democrats from all over Hertfordshire gathered for a Jazz Evening in Watford's renowned Pump House venue - noted for its regular jazz events.

Performing on the night were Pauline Pearce and the Laurie Chesco Good Time Reunion Jazz Band all the way from Hackney, England.

Pauline was known for some time as the "Hackney Heroine" when in the riots of 10 years ago she dissuaded a group of youths from looting a shop and sent them packing.

Pauline, now a community activist and Lib Dem member in Hackney has sung with the Laurie Chesco band on tour and at gigs round London and the Home Counties since... well, since well before the riots!

With good beer on tap - some of it from Tring Brewery - good company, good music and banter, a good time was had by all.

The event was organised as a fundraising event for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections in May next year.
