Emergency Road Works due to Burst Water Main A405/B4630 Roundabout

There will be emergency roadworks at the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout Jct. B4630 Watford Road, St Albans. The Water Main located at the roundabout is leaking and requires maintenance as soon as possible, to prevent failure of the carriageway besides major disruption to the local area and road users alike.

Given the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the repair works are being undertaken, it will be necessary to close A405 North Orbital Road (Westbound). between the junctions of Tippendell Lane and B4630 Watford Road. Given the location, we have agreed for the works to take place between 10pm - 5am tonight, 21st July. The works are expected to take 1 Night to complete.

The Variable Message Signs (VMS) have been agreed in principle and will be deployed in the local and surrounding areas to warn motorists travelling through St Albans.
