Deciding on development - the Local Plan consultation 27th Nov to 7th Feb
NON-POLITICAL PUBLIC SERVICE ARTICLE
Last week (18th November), Dacorum Councillors voted to do an important "Regulation 18" consultation with local residents, on (drum roll)...
"The Local Plan"
The consultation is now live; it started at 5pm on 27th November 2020, and runs until 11.59pm 7th February 2021
The Local Plan is a subject which can be seen as very technical, "jargony" and all that.
Unfortunately it also matters. Why? Our Councillor Liz Uttley is writing a series of posts to explain that.
This article is a place to collect all of them in one place.
Take some time to look at the documents; we'll try to show you where to find the bits you want!
Don't let it daunt you! It all breaks down to bite-size pieces. The best approach is to read-up in December, let it soak in, (make sure your family/friends know about it too) then collect and submit your comments in January.
Post 1 Consultation consultation consultation! What IS a Local Plan?
If you've been checking Facebook regularly, or have been following Dacorum Borough Council happenings you may be aware that last week Dacorum Borough Council voted by 29 to 18 (with some abstentions) to put the 'Emerging Local Plan' out for consultation immediately. The consultation officially begins on Friday 27 November at 5pm but the draft version is available here for review now.
It's well worth a look.
We'll be delving into the 400 pages (on Facebook, Twitter and on this website), to make it easier to identify the big questions where your answers provide evidence that supports modifications to the draft Plan. We'll try to show you the parts that are about Hemel, the parts that are about green-issues and the parts that are about what could make Dacorum better, given those changes that are - or are not welcomed.
