In October Councillors were told that some disabled people have been waiting as long as five years for a disabled adapted council house. This is despite Dacorum Council having a written objective to 'Provide good quality affordable homes, in particular for those in the greatest need.'

The Council admitted the shortfall and highlighted a lack of resources including a failure to keep in regular contact with some disabled people waiting on the list for an adapted home.

Cllr Lara Pringle, a Lib Dem representative on the Council's Housing Committee said "I know from helping my local residents how hard it is for people in need to get the housing they deserve"

Lara added "It is shocking to discover that the Council can't make good on their own objectives to provide affordable homes to people in greatest need."

This shows yet again that this Conservative-run Council is ignoring its own Council's objectives to look after people in need and that they are under-resourcing Council departments that are there to help.
