Every Hertfordshire County Councillor has £10,000 at her or his disposal to award to good causes in the area she or he represents. Funds cannot be awarded to individuals and are intended for charitable of community groups which might need some one-off funding for a project that they might not be able to carry out otherwise.

The funds can and often are put together with funding from other councillors if the project covers a wide area.

This is what Nick Hollinghurst, Liberal Democrat HCC councillor for Tring and the Villages, allocated his funds for this year just ending.

£ 500 Parkrun UK - to help towards the provision of free, timed 5 kn runs every saturday at 9.00 am in Tring Park for all ages and abilities.
