Liberal Democrat Councillors Ron Tindall and Adrian England will be putting forward a motion for debate at the Dacorum Council meeting on 26th February at The Forum, Marlows.

The motion proposes a number of costed and practical programmes to accelerate and improve the Council's response to the Climate Emergency and improve the environment for Dacorum residents.

The motion includes proposals for:

  • Initiatives to improve the air quality around schools and provide more public Electric Charging Points

  • Trial of solar powered compactor litter bins

  • Planting more of the right number and species of trees

  • One-off payments for projects to help reduce the Council's carbon footprint

  • Help for community infrastructure projects

  • Support for small local community sport and leisure programmes and community environmental improvement projects e.g. graffiti removal, litter clearance

  • Funding to increase the number of enforcement officers, did you know there is only one officer for all the parks & open spaces in Dacorum?
