Chorleywood Liberal Democrats Event to Welcome New Members as West Herts Party goes from Strength to Strength

Held towards the end of August on a splendid summer's evening, Chorleywood Liberal Democrats gathered for a garden party at the home of Iona and John Copley in Blacketts Wood Drive to welcome new members to the local branch of West Herts Liberal Democrats.

Since the General Election in May over 10,000 new members have joined the Liberal Democrats nationally and total membership has now hit 61,000.

Several local councillors are shown in the photograph and Chorleywood Parish Council has a Liberal Democrat majority.

In addition - not seen because they were delayed by a meeting - several local members are also Three Rivers District Councillors. The Liberal Democrats have run Three Rivers District for nearly 25 years and their administration enjoys one of the highest satisfaction rating of any council in Hertfordshire.

An active and lively group, Chorleywood Liberal Democrats are now looking forward to their annual fundraising Quiz Evening on Saturday, 10th October - an event that is always well attended, not only for the interest of the evening but also for the high standard of the wines that are customarily selected.
