We all know Ashridge as a beautiful open space, freely accessed by the pubic.

Most of us of course take advantage of the woods and hills and appreciate it greatly.

But, did you know that the National Trust is also there to help if you wish to organise an event or activity in Ashridge for charity, community group or a family?

Charity Events

If you would like to organise a fundraising or charity event at Ashridge, this can be arranged with permission from the National Trust.

There's a £50 Application Fee (to cover admin costs) and a form to fill in. Review of applications can take up to 6 weeks at busy times so allow for that. If successful the National Trust usually ask for a contribution of some kind, depending on the type of event.

Commercial Events

If you want to operate any kind of commercial activity in Ashridge Eg. commercial photo shoots, dog walking or regular meetings of clubs or societies, then you will need to obtain an annual licence.

Educational and Youth Groups

If you are planning to bring a group eg Scouts or Duke of Edinburgh events - then it's a good idea to discuss this with the National Trust. It's helpful to all concerned if they know which parts of the estate you want to visit. If you will be using minibuses or coaches to drop off or pick up they can arrange for that in Monument Drive rather than in one of the regular car parks.

Private Parties and Wedding Blessings

If you are planning a private picnic for 15 or more people then if you contact the National Trust they can advise on locations. On some days parts of the estate can be very busy and they may be able to advise on a more private location.

The National Trust may also be able to accomodate small Wedding Blessings, depending on location, time of year and number of guests. For this, at least a month's notice is required and there will be a fee of £150 for a Blessing.

Some Restrictions are in place

Non-disposable barbecues that are raised off the ground may be used along Monument Drive. Open fires are prohibited - as are metal detectors, drones, quad bikes or scramblers,
