Last week th ere were three gains by Liberal Democrats from the Conservatives.

Labour held a seat they were contesting, in a ward which the Liberal Democrats did not contest.

The Conservatives held two of the five seats they were defending.

However, in Buckinghamshire North, where the Liberal Democrats did not stand at the last election, the Con vote share dropped 10% and the Lib Dems achieved 24%. Possibly the HS2 effect?

UKIP stood in only 1 of the 6 by elections. The last time these seats were fought they had managed to stand candidates in 4 of them.
